Drilling and Fracking Sludge Solidification

Dump-truckTransporting large loads of liquid waste on the open road can be a frustrating operation, when only open box trailers are available to do the job without “Smokey” slapping a fine on you. Finding an economical way to solidify or stabilize the liquid waste that is produced by hydraulic fracturing and drilling is often an important part of the economics of these types of operations. Many operators now use sawdust, corncobs, kiln dust, mineral absorbents and even plain old dirt and sand. Obviously this adds a tremendous amount of mass to the liquid which then must be disposed of in a landfill where it is charged by the ton.

Guardian Environmental Technologies has developed several products designed to reduce treatment costs both for the operator as well as treatment facilities. The  new SG2 and SG10 can bring the cost of solidification down to about $.07/gallon and reduce the amount of total bulk that needs to be disposed of by half. This translates into real savings.
