Spill Control for Chlorosilanes
PetroGuard used as the primary product for maintenance and spill control with chlorosilanes
Guardian Environmental Technologies was recently contacted by a large manufacturer and awarded the business of supplying PetroGuard as the primary product used for maintenance and spill control with chlorosilanes.
Chlorosilanes are clear liquids that readily react with water to form corrosive hydrogen chloride gas and hydrochloric acid.
Because chlorosilanes and their vapors are corrosive to the skin, eyes, nose and throat, when dealing with maintenance or spill control for chlorosilanes, it is important to wear goggles, face shields, chemical protective clothing and chemical resistant gloves when handling them.
We have attached a short video demonstration of how PetroGuard simplifies maintenance procedures as well as illustrating how a reactive chemical like chlorosilane is instantly absorbed and solidified as well as suppressing the production of HCL vapor making it safer to handle and dispose of.
Also attached is a safe transportation and handling awareness training video offered by Dow Corning.
When it comes to handling reactive chemicals, being secure in your safety training and having the right products for maintenance and spill control are key.
