Chemcial Spill Shut Down Operations

It happened again at the midnight hour.  A chemical spill that shut down operations at the plant.

As Sean was suiting up, he was thinking how happy he was that his plant manager was using PetroGuard Chemical Spill Absorbent.

When a chemical spill happens, everyone knows how important every part of an emergency response plan is.  But does everyone know the hidden risks of using some of the standard products that are traditionally used like firefighting foam?

Sean did.  As a matter of fact he’s the one brought the risk to the plant manager’s attention.

He had found a few studies showing the risk to people who use these foams.  The studies showed that the chemicals in firefighting foam have been liked to kidney and testicular cancer, high cholesterol, obesity and endocrine disruption.

Other studies had shown how some fire-righting foams containing toxic chemicals can easily infiltrate drinking water.

Sean and his boss found an alternative to the use of these foams.

It is specially formulated to not only absorb the chemical, but permanently encapsulate it on a molecular level.

This means it will eliminate or drastically reduce the creation of toxic vapors which are characteristic to water reactive chemicals.

The product is PetroGuard Chemical Spill Absorbent, and it is the product most often turned to when looking for an alternative to foam.

PetroGuard Chemical Spill Absorbent  is completely non-toxic. It will absorb and render the water reactive chemical impervious to water. In fact if one were to take the solidified mass and submerge it in water, there would not be a dangerous reaction. A video describing the application of PetroGuard to titanium tetrachloride can be watched here.
