Is a free bulk waste solidifier really FREE? The answer is unequivocally NO!
Many of our customers were caught in the trap where they believed their bulk waste solidifier was cost-effective because it was free or cost only pennies.
If you believe using materials like corn cobs or sawdust will save you money, think again.
Let’s say you can get a full truckload of wood chips or corn cobs for free, if you just pay the freight. Boy, what a deal…….
Don’t go for that carrot! It’s not a deal.
Corn cobs have an approximate absorption value of 1 to 1. That is for every ton of corn cobs you can expect to absorb 1 ton of liquid sludge. So now you are stuck with 2-tons of waste to transport and dispose of.
HOWEVER, if you consider using a highly absorbent light weight solidifier like our SludgeGuard-P, you will treat that same ton of waste with only 250 lbs. of a more efficient product. So, you will end up having less to transport and less to dispose of.
Are you wondering how much? Let’s do the math.
- 500 tons of waste will require 63 tons of our highly absorbent light weight solidifier, SludgeGuard-P.
- 63 tons of SludgeGuard-P is 5.2 truckloads
- Total weight to dispose of 563 tons
Now if you are using fly ash or cement, these weights per cubic yard increase significantly. For example, Portland cement weighs in at 94 pounds per cubic foot. Fly ash weighs about 65 pounds per cubic foot.
The cost of transportation and disposal can easily turn something that was FREE into a management challenge.
It is easy to see that the use of a light-weight absorbent like SludgeGuard-P will save you a “ton” of money.
Don’t let your current suppliers dangle that FREE carrot in front of you and watch you dance like a show pony.
